About Grace Lutheran Academy

God first placed the possibility of a school on our hearts during our biweekly Bible study during the Fall of 2024. Parents at the Bible study shared their concerns related to the direction our culture is heading and the lack of Christ in our schools. After much prayer, research and planning, Grace Lutheran Academy was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in May 2025. We are looking forward to starting school in September 2026! We are located in Havana, Illinois.

Focusing On Each Child's Individual God-Given Strengths

We focus on each child’s individual God-given strengths while providing education in natural learning environments and small class sizes. Grace Lutheran acknowledges that the Bible is God’s word without error. While we are affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod, we also accept families from all backgrounds

Creating Christian Connection and a Love for Learning

Proverbs 22:6 reads, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” At Grace Lutheran Academy we understand the importance of family and Christian connection to educate the whole child. Our goal is not only to provide top tier education, but to also assure our students leave our program confident and with a life-long love for learning and Christ. This is not possible without family support. We are not only your child’s community, we are your family’s community.

Our Doctrine

Grace Lutheran Academy follows the doctrine of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). LCMS is a Christian denomination that believes that the Bible is the true word of God. The LCMS operate the largest Protestant parochial school system in the United States.

What We Do and What We Believe

Teaching God’s Word and Growing in Faith

Our students are taught that the Bible is God’s Word without error. Students receive a Christ-centered education.

Natural Learning Environments

We believe in the connection of people and God’s creation. We integrate faith and education in nature including environments that are conducive to learning.

Community of Grace

We strive to create a community of love and forgiveness as God has shown us through the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ.

Inquiry Based Learning

Learning by asking questions and figuring out the answers, not simply being told the information. Children get to be detectives and explore learning.

Mission

Provide a Christ-centered education to discover and enhance each child’s God-given gifts and confidence to inspire others to be disciples in Christ.

Vision

Our vision is to ensure our students develop a desire for learning in an edifying environment, become confident individuals, and have a strong Christian foundation that will inspire others through their love of Christ. Learning is a continuum; therefore, our focus is on family and community involvement via shared experience while learning through God’s creation.
Christian education to guide and nourish each child’s God-given purpose.
