Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith outlines what we follow at Grace Lutheran Lutheran Academy. Students and families do not have to believe in all of these statements; however, it is what we teach. By agreeing to our Statement of Faith, you are agreeing to allow your child to be taught with these principals in mind. Grace Lutheran Academy is a ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and embraces the following:

What We Believe

  • That the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. I Cor. 14:37; II Tim. 3:16, 17; Hebrews 4:12-13; II Peter 1:21
  • That Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of the Living God and that He is the central theme of all history and is the ultimate authority of what men say, do, or believe. John 3:16-17; Col. 1:15-18
  • That Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and shed His blood and died on a cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. John 1:29; Romans 5:9; Hebrews 9:14
  • That Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, and will personally return in power and glory to judge the world. Acts 1:9-11; I Cor. 15:3-5; I Thess. 4:13-18
  • That salvation is by God's grace alone and is created and sustained by God’s Spirit-filled word which inspires an active and obedient faith in Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:14; Romans 5:1; Eph. 2:8-10; James 2:14-18
  • That the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and gives them the desire and power to live a holy life. John 14:16-17; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:5-9
  • That the Bible affirms the value, dignity, and personhood of the unborn child, the aged, the physically disabled, intellectually disabled, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:15
  • That God designed marriage to be a covenant between one biological man and one biological woman and that the Bible prohibits sexual promiscuity, including, but not limited to, the use or spread of pornography, engaging in, condoning or supporting sexual immorality; practicing a homosexual lifestyle or alternative gender identity; or promoting any such practices. Gen. 1:27; Gen. 2:24; Malachi 2:14-16; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:27; I Corinthians 6:9-20; Matthew 19:4-6
  • We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six, twenty-four-hour days. Gen. 1-2
  • That due to man’s rebellion God destroyed the world with a worldwide flood but spared Noah and his family in the ark, the building of which was a condemnation of mankind’s sin. Genesis 6-8

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. Grace Lutheran Academy adheres to the confessional standard of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, and we seek the guidance of the pastors of our sponsoring congregations to explain and apply this confessional standard for the purposes of the school’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline.
