Spiritual Formation

Worship as a way of life

Jesus Christ suffered to pay for our sins and rose victorious over sin, death and the devil and then ascended to continue as our Savior before God’s throne. Now every Christian through faith in their Savior takes part in this continual worship. We approach the throne of grace in confidence and have the comfort of Jesus’ continual intercession. We allow this great eternal comfort to influence our devotion, instruction and worship.

Daily Devotions

Time will be set aside every day in each class for bible readings, devotions on those readings, and prayer. Themes for these devotions will increase the student’s knowledge about Jesus, but will also instill in their lives an understanding of what it means to be a Christian. Themes for these devotions will help the students understand how Jesus is a part of every moment of our lives.

Chapel

The weekly chapel services will be led by local Lutheran pastors. As the apostle Paul urges, (Col. 3:16) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. The chapel services are designed to help the children understand the repentance, forgiveness, God’s word and singing praises for the sake of Jesus Christ their Savior.

Religion Classes

Daily religion classes will be held for the upper grades. These classes will focus on the major bible stories in both the Old and New Testaments. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod trains their pastors in the original languages (Greek and Hebrew) and as a result the teaching is solidly founded in the holy scriptures. The purpose of this academic study is to encourage the youth to know that Jesus Christ is their Savior and that because of His redemption they can confidently look forward to eternal life. This will also encourage the children to live out their faith just as the apostle John writes, (1John 4:19) We love because he first loved us. Occasional classes will also be available for the younger grades.
