Pastor Heinze was born and raised in Quincy, IL receiving his elementary education from St. James Lutheran School and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 2015. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Quincy University in 2018 with degrees in Theology & Philosophy. Following undergraduate studies, he then moved to Concordia Seminary St. Louis to study for the Office of the Holy Ministry, completing his Master of Divinity degree in 2022 and being called to serve at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, IL.

Pastor Heinze has a talent for sharing his knowledge of the Church and Biblical history with others. He has a great sense of humor which is appreciated by both those young and old.

Ian and his wife, Sarah, met as children at Camp CILCA, their local Lutheran Church Camp. Through their first five years of marriage, the Lord has seen fit to bless them with three children: Gabriel, Chelsea, and Gideon. Apart from his primary duties of husband, father, and pastor, he loves to read, garden, cook, and fish with the family.
